The best way to test the water of a new country is to take a job that is not too binding, so why not volunteer. There are many orgs that do this;
Like EVS, incidentally the org. I first worked for in Germany. You have to be between 16-25 and you do a project in exchange for accomodation, lessons in the lingo of the hosting country and a basic living wage. Each project is between 6 mths and a year.
See a review here at the British Council website;

sorry for the long URL.
A sending organisation in Germany is located here;

Likewise try
http://www.lvsc.org.uk
Or if you are altuistic try working with the disabled, as I did in Worcester;
WORCESTERSHIRE LIFESTYLES Woodside Lodge, Lark Hill Road, Worcester WR5 2EF, UK. Tel: 01905 350686 Fax: 01905 350684 Worcslifestyles at care4free.net
All the above are good stepping stones, so take the leap. _________________ Please meet Stewart Tunncilff |
