Hi

Could you please reword the phrase He said I deserved no less.
converting it in the positive sentence?

'Torn' phrases of this kind always put me in stupor. :)

In this case there would be no serious problem for me if it continued with something like '... than their best', for example.

But it doesn't... Just full stop after 'less'. :)

Hi Tamara

Your sentence refers back to something previously said. So, if "their best" has been offered, given or mentioned to you, then your rewording "... no less than their best" sounds just right. Or you could just think of it as "... no less than that." :D

Hi Amy,

It seems you’re right :) The previous 5 sentences can be (generally…) understood as describing some ‘dream’ conditions.

Thanks.

Another question, by the way:
Can the above phrase (‘... I deserved no less.’) be also used in English to refer to some 'bad' conditions? Punishment, for example.

P.S.
Mr Google gave me the enigmatic phrase That hast no less deserved, nor must be known., but it seems too much for my head... :)
