TOEFL Essay: Some people prefer to play team sports, while others prefer... Mon Dec 18, 2006 18:10 pm  TOEFL Essay: Some people prefer to play team sports, while others prefer...

Some people prefer to play team sports, while others prefer to play individual sports. Discuss the advantages of each. Then indicate which you prefer and why.

In my daily day, usually I play individual sports and team sports. I find the first option more practical and simple; in contrast, to play team sport is more complex and requires a lot of time and effort.

For instance, when I want to make sports, It is really simple like to put a sport shoes and run in the park, or to take a bicycle and take a short trip In the street, to go to the pool and swim.

In the other hand, if I want to play team sports, the first that I need are some friends available on this exactly moment, also I need a place to play. Depending on the specifically sport, the place must be big, for example for a soccer match; or a small place like a tennis table match.

Another problem to play team sports is that requires more time to exercise all the body, because in the majority of sports not all the players are playing at the same time.

In conclusion, I do not have doubts about there is more interesting and fun to play team sports, but the problem is that sometimes it is more difficult to play team sports instead of individual sports.

Hi,

In my daily day, I USUALLY play individual sports and team sports. I find the first option more practical and simple; in contrast, to play A team sport is more complex and requires a lot of time and effort.

For instance, when I want to DO SPORT, it is really simple like putTING ON a PAIR OF sport shoes and runNING in the park, or to RIDING a bicycle and takING a short trip ALONG THE ROAD, to goING to the pool and swimMING.

ON the other hand, if I want to play team sports, FIRST OF ALL I need some friends available AT this PRECISE moment, also I need a place to play. Depending on the specific sport, the place must be big, for example for a soccer match; or a small place like a tennis table match.

Another problem WITH playING team sports is that IT requires more time to exercise the WHOLE body, because in the majority of sports not all the players are playing at the same time.

In conclusion, I do not have doubts about WHETHER is more interesting and fun to play team sports, but the problem is that sometimes it is more difficult to play team sports instead of individual sports.

The text with same title Fri Dec 21, 2007 20:42 pm  The text with same title

Hello, I saw this title and thought, I will write something and ask for the help. I am planning to take an TOEFL in late February/beginning of march and planing to take on master's degree. Somehow I believe that I have a lots of problems with the articles "a" and "the" before any type of words.
This text is written in some 10 minutes, not sure. My English vocabulary is good, but I miss using it every day with people from "English speaking countries". I am interested if you would know how would this text be rated on TOEFL. Thank you in advance.

Some people prefer to play team sports, while others prefer to play

I would like to emphasize the fact that team sports is something that is always very important to the acteurs because of selfconfidence and positivism.
Generally, the idea of team sports is to make the best possible result in order to beat the opponent. Also, reasonable doubt to have an understanding among each other when being a part of a team is present. In a team you can be lead by a chosen one i.e. a captain who is often characterized as a coordinator with charism.

On the other hand, announcement that others prefer to play can have multiple meaning. We can pinpoint these two facts:
Firstly, when playing just for the stake of having fun, person doesn't have to be lead by anyone. The idea is to have fun no matter the circumstances.
Secondly, when your goal is to play in order to beat that certain someone, you will always try to give your best in this game because of the feeling you have afterwards. It is quite simple: beating someone is better than being beaten.

In conclusion, when team sports are concerned, among younger people result is what matters the most, and as far as elder citizens are concerned, the group gathering and socializing is what is always guaranteed and why playing a certain sport is all about.
