hi all,

which statement is grammatically correct?

A. oh, chinese is a torturing language
B. oh, chinese is a tortured language

I personally believe A is correct,while B is the one i came cross in a passage.

It depends on your intended meaning:

A. Chinese is a torturing language -- it is painful to learn
B. Chinese is a tortured language -- it has suffered in its development
C. Chinese is a tortuous language -- it is complex and convoluted
