When the class went to the zoo on a trip they learned that cats are more ___ related to lions than dogs are to each other.

a.) intrinsically

b.) intimidatingly

c.) intimately

d.)imminently

e.) immanently

Why won't a.) and c.) work? immanently means inherent. how are cats more inherently related to lions? E is the correct answer .

thanks!

im·ma·nent (m-nnt)
adj.
1. Existing or remaining within; inherent: believed in a God immanent in humans.
2. Restricted entirely to the mind; subjective.

Sentence is talking about how lions and cats are more genetically related than dogs and dogs. If you have studied biology and understand evolution, you'd know immanently is a better choice than intimately (No, cats and lions don't mate with each other).
