Carry in vs. Carry into

Hi teachers,

Please see the following:

1/ Please carry it in the next room.
2/ Please carry it into the next room.

Is there any difference between them.

Hi Jupiter

In has a sense of only one location (i.e. no change in location).
For example:
1/ Please push it only when you're in this room. You should carry it whenever you're in the next room.

Into has a sense of motion and a change in location from one place to another place.
For example:
2/ Please carry it from this room (in)to the next room.

Sometimes it doesn't make too much difference if you use in instead of into, but if you want to avoid misunderstandings, keep the information above in mind.
