Please, can you have a look at my toefl essay and send me your feedback. The Topic is: It is more important for students to study history than it is for them to study scinece and mathematics"
My TOEFL essay:
Nowadays, the numberr of students reading socail sciences such as history and literature is more important that tha of students who attend scientific courses such as Mathematics. But, can we infer friom this tendancy towards social sciences that it is more important for students to study shistory and literature than it is for them to study science and Mathematics. I will, in the following lines, try to show that scientific courses are not less important than social sciences and that both sciences merit studying.
In fact, if our world of today is better than that of yesterday in terms of technology, well-being, facilities of all kind, it is mainly thanks to science. That is why, I cannot agree with the idea according to which studying history and literature is more important for students than studying science and mathemtics.
Besides, it is very difficult to make a ranking between social sciences and scientific sciences, for both of them are meaningful and useful to human well-being. Social sciences such as philosophy and history have participated in broadening Human thought and preserving his history . Scientific sciences such as Medecine, astronomy have given men a better living standard and opened to him spaces that had hitherto never been discovered.
In my humble opinion, I think it will be a catastrophe if students neglect hard sciences bacause without these sciences our lifes will be en danger (luck of effective healings to deseases, for example) and backward (luck of quick and effective ways to communicate and travel.).Let's not forget that Internet, fax, computer, telephony are fruits of scientific researches conducted by scientific students or professors. In a word both of these two sciences merit learning and we have no right to classify them.
