Here is a sentence:

"Theories about the causes of aggression cover a broad spectrum, ranging from those with biological or instinctive emphasis to those that portrayaggression as a learned behaviour."

The question is :
Does this sentence show that various theories try to compare the idea that aggression is biological with the idea that it is learned?
Or does it show that various theories consider about aggression attribute it to either natural or learned causes?

Does this sentence show that various theories try to compare the idea that aggression is biological with the idea that it is learned?

The sentence says that some theories favor nature over nurture, while others favor nurture over nature.
