From my own experience, if English is not your first language, and you are a CS student (me too), you should start your GRE quest at least 9 months before taking the GRE General. Spend much time on reading literature (or its critics), get familiar with about 5000 GRE words, polish your writing skills (argumentative and issue one, 'forget' your CS writing style).
As for building vocabulary, I strongly recommend using this one http://gre.mappier.com/dictionary |

I would agree...if you need to work on vocab, start early. Focus your initial prep on vocab. I haven't used that Web site, but I have a book called Word Smart for the GRE. The tips for learning vocab are great.
If you're not great at tests like the GRE, then start prepping at LEAST 3 months before your test. The GRE changes in Fall 2007, though, so keep that in mind. |
