Hi

I use the word "subscribe" frequently like this.

1- I subscribe to Reader's Digest?
2- She would never subscribe to such a newspaper!

Could youy please tell me how Mister Micawber has used it? It's not passive voice, or is it?

I don't use it as a predicate adjective, but only as a past participle. So in my English, it's impossible to say someone "is subscribed" to a magazine, but only that they "have subscribed" to it, or "have a subscription" to it.
