'collaborative effort' vs. 'collaboration effort' #1 (permalink) Thu Jan 11, 2007 4:07 am   'collaborative effort' vs. 'collaboration effort'

The following is a sentence I found in a book.

"The wedlock was a collaboration effort."

I think the adjective form of collaboration, collaborative, must be used in the sentence. If I am wrong, please enlighten me on this: where to use 'collaboration effort' and where to use 'collaborative effort.'

Thanks in advance :)

Hi,

I agree that 'collaborative effort' would be the acceptable choice. The other choice, which sounds a bit awkward, might be: an effort of collaboration.
