Hi,

Quote:
respected and respectful

'Respected' means others respect you. 'Respectful' is you showing respect to others

Quote:
skilled and skilful

'Skilled' often suggests that someone has trained in a particular activity/craft.
'Skilful' is a more general word indicating 'clever' or 'able'.

Hello Allan,
Thanks for your prompt response, but I still have a question:
Can we say a respected man, or a respectful man?
He is respectful or he is respected?
a skillful engineer or a skilled engineeer?

Yes, you can say both. The man is either being respected by others (respected) or is showing respect to others (respectful)

The engineer is either very clever with his hands (skilful) or has been trained (skilled).
