Hi Alan,
I have heard people say 'absolutely' meaning 'yes, of course' quite often. Also, 'I don't feel comfortable' seems to be quite popular too.

All of these have been common expressions in the United States since dirt was new.
"Absolutely" is used as a very emphatic way of saying "yes". It doesn't really mean "yes". It means more than "yes", maybe "yes completely without reservation".
"Hugely" is an alternative to "enormously", not to "very".
"I don't feel comfortable with/about" doesn't mean "I don't like", but more like, "I'll accept that if I have to, but I'd rather not have to deal with it." |

I know quite a few people who use the word "Absolutely" as their standard method of agreeing with someone. It's been used this way in the US for quite a long time -- but probably not quite as long as dirt has existed. :lol:

Absolutely negative!
By the way, do people use "negative" instead of "no" often?
One guy told me it is the easiest way to tell if the person had to deal with the arm recently :) is it true? and how about "affirmative" in this case?

No, "negative" is not nearly as common as "absolutely".
It is extremely common in the armed forces and maybe (?) in police units, but among civilians I almost never hear it... at least, not in that sense (to mean "no").
