I think I erred because in the correct sentence is missing an E. I should read "what's happened? that's why I did not choose this one.

Am I right?

That sentence is a bit confusing because it can work almost anyway. you can use what you wrote:

I'm walking right up to the crowd now to see what's happend

meaning the accident has already happend which makes more sense to me.

because:

I'm walking right up to the crowd now to see what's occuring.

thats present tense so there isnt going to be a crowd watching a car accident haha. Your answer seems more reasonable. Answer C also works.

Only answer (c) is correct because what's occurring is not good idiomatic English.

As for the missing e in happened we'll amend that, thanks for pointing out, Richard.
