Good idea. I’d be all for it! I think we’ve mentioned it once or twice before, but have only toyed with the idea so far. It would be a fun and enriching experience for all of us, I’m sure.

Let’s see what the boss has to say about it all.

Hi Conchita,

Quote:
The typical vowel lengthening is another important factor -- words like 'times', 'why' or 'far' become taaaimes, whaaay, faaar.

Good point!

Anyway, why would someone want to change their accent in the first place? It's part of who they are.

How often do you hear people speak like Lady Mosley?

I practically never hear this sort of accent. Not that I would mind (unlike Alan), since I don't find it unpleasant at all, but rather interesting, actually.

Hi Stew,

Recording your voice and posting the recording here for us is an excellent idea!

Hi

This is cool for a single thread, but what about personalising profiles a bit more for the trainers. I think the forum users might appreciate it. As well as doing sth with the team website????

Hi Stew,

As for personalizing the profiles, as an english-test.net contributor you will get your own professional page which can look like this:
http://www.english-test.net/esl/professionals/linda-arlia.html

Is this what you had in mind or were you referring to the forum users' profiles? Regarding the team website, do you mean www.english-team.com?

Regards,
Torsten

Hi

But I see no audio file on lindas page. That is what I was thinking. Also on the team website. It kinda personalises the experience for the forum users.

That's right. An audio introduction is a great way to make contact with clients and users. Linda has also created a description of the courses she has been conducting via Skype and we'll publish the new materials soon....

Sounds tip top, the dogs whatsits.

Is it not amazing how trainers have embraced technology and how it is changing the market?

But back to the thread. This newly found denglisch (just for the German learners of English) clip is great:

and check him out in the eagerly awaited Hot Fuzz (no I am not gettting money for the plug)
