yes, i have asked the dean and the coordinator, Maureen and some other colleges and none of them want to help me.
I want to study. Please! I have approached all singapore rich men, companies, organisations, NUS, NTU, SMU, SIM, SP (NS's school), NP, RP and all schools in singapore and i have got rude and scarstic reply from them. I feel like committing suicide.

Jennifer, please give us a couple of days to think about this, OK? There always is a solution for any situation and if you really want to study in the US you will achieve your goal. I need to think everything through and I will definitely get back to you.

I didn't understand (possibly, missed something important in the thread), what makes you so sure of that? _________________ It’s impossible to learn swimming without entering the water…

Sounds like a fair deal, NS. Jennifer, you are serious about your loan, I'll accept NS's offer and meet with NS at Singapore Polytechnic School of Business.
Good night and talk to you soon.

Why is there the only college on the Earth that could satisfy her great wish to study Computer Science? _________________ It’s impossible to learn swimming without entering the water…

I have read through the website and i have asked her the same question this morning when i spoke to her face to face. She told me that she wanted to transfer to UC Berkeley after her 2 years of study in that college. That college has high accreditions for transfering students to the top universities. _________________ I can eat 5 plates of chicken rice at 1 go...! |

Jennifer
In lieu of a benefactor, I suggest the following:
1) Go to a bank and ask for a loan. If you own a house and have equity in it (amount paid below the mortgage amount), you could take out a home equity loan.
2) Apply for scholarships or other types of grants. There are copious endowments out there geared to helping people, many of whom are in your situation: intelligent but temporarily economically challenged.
3) Surely the government of Singapore wants its people to become educated. Therefore, I bet that, if all else fails, you could take out a loan from them, some sort of educational loan -- whatever type your government generally offers economically-challenged students. (I don't mean "poor" -- most people can't just pull $50K out of their pockets... in that sense, you are economically challenged. Call it "tuition-challenged".)
In the US there are things like Stafford loans which allow kids to go to school for the promise of repaying the loan.
4) Finally, if none of the above work, I suggest that you find a good job (as applicable -- I don't know what you're good at or would like to do), get a cheap apartment or rent one with friends (so that you can split the rent, helping you all save some money), and save money. Save money until you have enough to pay for school. This may take years, but education is something worth working for.
In the meantime, you can hone your English skills in here so that when you're ready to go to school in the US, you'll arrive in the United States immediately understanding everyone around you. _________________ Billie Jean is not my lover. Hee. |

Maybe if you can tell us the main reason for choosing to study over there.
