Teaching English via SMS? Sun Dec 30, 2007 1:22 am  Teaching English via SMS?

Hi Mohammad,

What countries are the recipients on your list from? I take it they gave you their phone numbers as you mentioned earlier this year? Are you using the Internet to offer your service? Also, could you please tell us more about the technical side of your project? How exactly do you send your SMS?

Thanks a lot,
Torsten

Teaching English via SMS? Sun Dec 30, 2007 21:20 pm  Teaching English via SMS?

Hello Torsten,

At the moment the recipients are from Iran and yes they give their cell phone numbers to me.

Well I send messages to members by the help of a company in Iran. The company offers some services including horoscope, puzzle, news headlines, gold price, share prices, SMS Box, SMS Chat, sending & receiving e-mails, sending messages to Yahoo Messenger, sending Yahoo Messenger offlines to cell phone, and special GROUP service. All its services are offered through SMS.

You may ask what a group service is! It is somehow like Yahoo Groups. Everyone can create a new one, recruit members, and send messages to them. That’s what I’m doing now. The company software receives my msgs first and then sends them to all my group members.

That software also provides an environment for sending international SMS and of course covers a system for delivering report.

Have you ever had such plans in your mind? Please let me know.

Take care,
Mohammad
