does anybody heard about "english for information professionals"...? #1 (permalink) Thu Feb 15, 2007 11:59 am   does anybody heard about "english for information professionals"...?

Hi,
this questions that i've been living with for a while makes me a bit confused. i am assigned to give this course in "a non english speaking country" and i have to give lectures to the students that are not even intermediate level.. and there is no content, no handouts and "yes" ideas but no materials which could help me... information professionals are librarians, archivists or people who are working or studying on computer and communication related, interdisciplinary sciences.
Could anyone help me to develop some content (especially simple reading passages) for this course?..
Thanks very much..

The British Council in Germany apparently gives classes of English for information professionals. Here is a page where you can download a program of one of their previous courses of that type:
http://www.britishcouncil.de/e/english/infoprof.htm

If you want some materials, and can afford to subscribe, I'm sure you can find some good things at Handouts Online: http://handoutsonline.com/
