yeah, the joke was implied. hehe
Soccer: AC Milan - Pirlo Liverpool - Stevie G Juventus - Del Piero Inter - Cambiasso Manchester United - Cristiano Ronaldo (even though he dives a lot... a marvelous player)
...are my favorite clubs/players.
My favorite national side (besides the US.. and yes, I know that we suck) is Italy. Forza Italia!
I haven't had much of a chance to watch middle eastern clubs play, though I took note of Al Ittihad (hope I spelled that right, at least in our alphabet) a year or two ago in the FIFA World Club Championships, or whatever that tournament is called.
Iran and Saudi Arabia have become pretty good sides.
What's noteworthy, I think, is the improvement of the soccer sides in the middle east... at both the club and international levels. The same has been happening in Australia, the US, East/Southeast Asia and Africa. It will become increasingly more difficult for the historical powers from Europe and South America to win the World Cup, with so many countries -- from all over the globe -- now able to compete with them. _________________ Billie Jean is not my lover. Mba
I regret missing out on Al-kramah's recent success. I suppose Syria is building toward being another Middle East soccer power.

I don't really follow MLS (Major League Soccer), which is the top league inthe USA. However, if I had to pick a favorite team, I suppose my team would be the Chicago Fire... because that's the team closest to my native state, the state where I grew up (Wisconsin).
As for Pirozi vs. Esteghlal, it sounds like the Rome, Manchester, Milan and Merseyside Derbies -- total chaos before, during and after the game.
You probably know this, but in case you don't:
Rome derby = Roma vs. Lazio Manchester derby = Manchester United vs. Manchester City Milan derby = AC Milan vs. Inter Milan Merseyside derby = Liverpool vs. Everton _________________ Billie Jean is not my lover. Hee. |
