"Our declining environment may bring the people of the world together as no politician, philosopher, or war ever could. Environmental problems are global in scope and respect no nation's boundaries. Therefore, people are faced with the choice of unity and cooperation on the one hand or disunity and a common tragedy on the other."

The only thing common to the previous millenia and continues even today is the stiff competition that exists among various species. There has always been competition between animals or mankind. This competition between mankind has also been evident in between the states or a country. However, this competition for the 'survival of the fittest' has not been an healthy one and eventually affects the living world.Competition has always lead mankind to outbeat himself. This competition also lead to technological advancements especially noted in the last century. It has had a positive and a negative impact on life.

The last century has seen accomplishments that completely changed the living style of mankind. For example, development of electricity led to automate many processes. Though,this had a positive effect that led to the reduction of the labor involved,the negative impact was seen in the changes that reflected in nature. Advancements in the printing technology saw the need for more paper. This led to deforestration. The need of paper outbeat the number of trees that were available or planted. Similarly, growth in the number of vehicles and factories have led to pollution. Thus, pollution has increased and affected our environment in many ways.

Past few decades has seen increase in temperature. This increase in temperature also known as global warming has had a very dangerous negative impact on the life of not only mankind but other species as well. Global warming has led to drastic changes in weather. It has been observed that there has been an increase on 1 C in the earth's temperature over the last century. This has led to melting of the ice caps in the North and South pole. The result of this is the increase in the sea level. There is fear of the continents that may get drowned because of this impact.Pollution also has lead to acid rain which has affected the marine life. Spread of epidemics, extinction of various animals etc as a result of pollution.

The environment we live in is depleting. Activities of mankind has had a negative impact that will threaten the survival of mankind. Political parties and politicians many bring together a group of people of a state. Philosophers may group people who share the same thoughts/ideas. War may bring together a country. But the need for a better living environment will congregate the mankind. Depleting environment sees no boundaries. It shows its impact. And this impact is dangerous. This is a global issue. Various studies conducted on this issue has proved the negative impact. All the nations have arisen for the situation and are uniting against this global cause. Our declining environment may bring the people of the world together. Environmental problems are global in scope and respect no nation's boundaries. Therefore, people are faced with the choice of unity and cooperation. Otherwise, the negative impacts affect mankind. Man has begun to work towards the solution for a better environment. Better today helps to see a better tomorrow.
