Is this site viewable thru cell phones? #2 (permalink) Mon Feb 19, 2007 16:01 pm   Is this site viewable thru cell phones?

Hi Nina,

Many thanks for your interesting question. We are planning to develop a mobile phone version of our website so cell phone users will be able to use our tests too. I think there is a huge market for so called 3G applications in Japan. Do you have a mobile phone and if so how do you use it? How many websites can you access through your phone?

Regards,
Torsten

Hi Torsten,

3G is indeed a big hit in Japan. I myself use a 3G cell phone. Other than email(vodafone email), I use the internet to check the bus/train schedule everyday. I also check the weather (when I am not near my laptop).

Cell phone really helps alot when you're not in an area that you're not familiar with. I was once lost in Tokyo(when I was doing job hunting) and thank god for my cell phone I was able to get back to the route that I was suppose to follow. But of course non-3G cell phones can do all these things too.

I also used to download songs and wallpapers from Japanese sites. There are very little English site that I can view.I think at the moment I can view my yahoo.com and yahoo.co.jp emails thru my phone.

But one must remember not to use 3G outside of Japan too much. I used it in Malaysia only to come back to Japan to pay 58000 yen (RM2000!) and I still haven't told my father about it!Oh dear.

All in all, I think it would be awesome if I can view ESL thru my cell phone. I hope you guys can get it done. And fast!He he.
