Happy Chinese New Year to you too, Edwin!
In Malaysia we have the Lion Dance performed every Chinese New Year. I just love, love, love this celebration because of the Lion Dance and the 'Ang Pau' >$*0*$< that I'd be receiving from my chinese neighbours, especially my baby sister, she gets the most $$$hehe. |

People celebrate it too here in Yokohama Chukagai (Chinatown, Yokohama). Just my two cents. :D
BTW, could anyone tell me if April 1st was also a new year somewhere at ancient times? I don't know it for sure.

Hi Nina,
Sorry for the inconvenience. In fact I meant to make a convenient use of the idiom 'two cents worth'. :) But I was very impressed with your discernment referring it to bet. Here is a piece of information about the idiom and I hope it would be of some help to you.
| Quote: |
Two cents worth
Meaning
Offer an opinion.
Origin
Poker games often required a small bet to be made by a new player before they could join the game. Notionally offering two cents (or two bits) late came to be used as a way of entering your opinion in a conversation.

By the way, just out of curiosity, what language(s) do people use in Malaysia? Haihao |

Haihao dear,
I didn't mean it that way. When I said it has started to bug me what I meant to say was'Chotto ki ni natteru' dake dayo
Thanks though, for taking the trouble explaining it to me.You're a doll
Anyway, in Malaysia people speak the Malay language(national language) and English(sort of official or the social language).Well, of course the Chinese can speak chinese too. Some Malays can speak chinese..so there.
