Hi

To date, I have been unable to understand the meaning of this word: Ornithoscopy

Could you please explain to me in detail how the birds are observed and what follows?

Tom

PS: Is the red comma correct?

As our friend Mister Micawber would say: "Ornithoscopy is a euphuism* for birdwatching".

For more details, there's nothing that a little googling won't take care of -- look under 'birdwatching' (the term 'birding' is also used).

*Euphuism: affected elegance of language

PS: The comma after 'to date' is correct.

.
The comma is optional as far as I'm concerned.

Wikipaedia has a summary introduction to BIRDWATCHING.
