What are TOEFL® and IELTS all about?

Hi everyone,
I'm currently doing my A-Levels and TOEFL and IELTS are new to me. :shock: I'm from malaysia and we had this major exam where we sat for English 1119. (Anyone heard of it? :P )

So which is better TOEFL or IELTS?( because I heard they're both high standard English exams.) And what are they all about?
