In China occurs a special group of people who have graduated from college but still stay in campus. They always share a small apartment by several ones, enjoy dining-room, library, gymnasium, bathhouse of university, and live the same lives as they did before graduation. They are called Wandering-In-Campus Class.
It is reported that from 2003 to 2005, the amount of graduates who haven’t found any jobs was up to 750,000, 990,000 and 1.2 million. Part of them became members of Wandering-In-Campus Class. The Class mostly consists of rural or other cities’ students, for whom it is difficult to find stable jobs to make their lives. They chose to stay in campus for relatively cheap facilities reluctantly.
There are many reasons why Wandering-In-Campus Class came into being. Social factor, family factor, even individual factor make sense. Above all, an important reason is that the education of Chinese schools focuses on tests and examinations, but ignores an individual’s development of talents. That leads to a simple educational mode that improves students’ abilities on theories or skills by copying other successful schools. The simpler the abilities turns, the more strongly the job-searching intention concentrates on several popular fields such as IT. As a result, the employment pressure grows rapidly. |
