How much does your demand for high quality increase when you have to pay for ESL? #1 (permalink) Fri Mar 02, 2007 20:41 pm   How much does your demand for high quality increase when you have to pay for ESL?

A lot of people visit ESL forums in order to get answers to questions about English usage, advice about how to say something in English, tips on learning English, etc. This information and advice is often free of charge. Is it acceptable to you to receive material with errors or sub-standard material as long as it's free or costs very little? What sort of quality do you, as a member or user of a free ESL forum, expect from the site? How much does your demand for high quality increase when you have to pay for ESL material?

Hi Amy, it depends on how you define 'sub-standard material' and what you define as 'standard'. Yes, advice on forums is free of charge which has a lot of advantages to both the person who gives the advice as well as the person who receives it. In most cases, the user is happy with the answer they get and if they aren't, all they need to do is ask another question. So the level of quality a user gets from an ESL forum largely depends on the quality of the question the user posts.
