An "inconvenient truth" about Al Gore Sat Mar 03, 2007 12:45 pm  An "inconvenient truth" about Al Gore

It's coming out in the news now that Al Gore and his wife, on their two-building property, use twice as much energy in a month as the average American household does in a year.

Then he buys "carbon offsets" from his own company.
http://worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=54528

He will make millions if American companies are forced to buy "carbon offsets", so he has a huge financial interest in convincing people that the "global warming" story is true, which not all responsible environmental scientists believe.

Hi Jamie,

Given the fact that the Gore household could be called anything but an average American household, I think that they are using very little energy on their property. As for the carbon offsets, this sounds like a pretty good business idea to me. It's up to the individual customer whether or not they buy the global warming story. I also think that that American companies can't be forced to buy anything. There is a free enterprise system in the US so company managers take business decisions rather than being forced by the government to buy something they don't need.

Bush's house in Texas is actually much more energy efficient than any of Gore's houses, but he's still painted up as the devil.

You're right that selling the carbon offets is a good business idea, but it shows that Gore has a clear conflict of interest in peddling the global warming scenario. Part of his intention is actually to get the US congress to pass laws making such offsets necessary, and he would then be positioned to profit from trading in them. As you know, we don't have complete laissez faire free enterprise here, and our businesses our subject to quite a lot of environmental, safety and social regulations.

From now on, Gore will put his electricity bills in his lock box.

"And a hypocrite shall lead them."
