Hello,

I have a trouble accepting the expression below.

Byzantium used to be quite a hobby with me.

I think it's grammatically correct but why do we use with here and not of ?

'With' is used after many verbs to show a connection. In your sentence, we could also use 'of' with a possessive pronoun -- it would then read:

Bysantium used to be quite a hobby of mine.

Thanks, Conchita.

I was just searching for the word to describe what I understood(the connection thing that you said). The sentence made me look at it many times before I can understand what the author wanted me to see.Replacing it with of would make people see it from a different view.

And you cleared it up for me, thanks!
