Hi Torsten,

Thank you for asking two very relevant questions.

I think any documents could be filed. It goes without saying that maintaining records, called 'archives' in their historical phase, containing all the documents produced by all individuals, government bodies, and organisations in the World is quite an impossible task. It is, however, possible to collect and maintain samples from different records - including those you find in people's homes. Anything created by human beings is valuable information: e-mails, letters, diaries, webpages, tax records, medical records, financial records, bank statements, leaflets... The list is endless.

Future historians and anthropologists would probably benefit the most from a good recordkeeping system, but archival information could be made available to the general public as well. It would be interesting if the messages people have posted in the forums of this website would be microfilmed and made available to those who conduct ESL/EFL related research in 2400, wouldn't it?
