TOEFL Essay: Food has become easier to prepare. Is it good?

Could you examine my essay?

Question:
Nowadays, food has become easier to prepare. Has this change improved the way people life? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Answer:
Certainly, the new technologies in general and food making in particular have improved our life dramatically. The food which has become easier to prepare gives to the people without time, without cooking skills and without kitchen the possibility to eat healthy meal.

At first, food that could be prepared easy helps to save our time, so we have more spare time for sport activities or communication with friends and family. Half century ago people spent couple of hours to prepare dinner. Now it’s possible to bring a small frozen brick into a microwave stove and after couple of minutes enjoy the tasty roast or pancakes.

Today we must not have any special cooking skills; anyone can buy half-finished food and make it by himself. This meal has been the right decision for alone men, students and old people. Anyway, if a person wanted to make the traditional food he would do that in any time and easy food may be only additional variant for him.

At last, such meal provides a great opportunity for employees, who want to have healthy dinner but have not abilities to do that because of the lack of kitchen. Sometimes they had to go in restaurants or cafes and spend there huge amounts of money or eat the dry sandwiches. Since the invention of the new methods of food creation workers and clerks could eat the normal food anytime and everywhere.

Someone could say that such food was worse than traditional one. And in some cases I agree with him, but if you have not much free time or appropriate place and skills, easy food will be the single solution.
