Hello,
The meaning of 'tacks' is: objects with a needle point that are used to fasten or affix another object, such as paper or fabric, to a wall, for example.
Remember, that there are many online dictionaries that can help you find the definitions to words you're confused about.
A good one is www.m-w.com. It's a Merriam-Webster online dictionary site. Some of the other moderators have recommended great links for online dictionaries as well.
Take care,
Linda
