Hi FangFang. It would not be 'definite', because that would be redundant to 'purpose' in the case of a reputable organization such as the ITA; it could hardly be set in contrast to an 'indefinite' or vague purpose! The ITA's 'defining' purpose is the purpose for which it was created, its raison d'etre, or its core/essential purpose.

'Product slate', I seem to recall, is essentially synonymous with 'product line' or 'product range'-- the totality of products a company produces.
