What are some important qualities of a good supervisor (boss)? Use specific details and examples to explain why these qualities are important.

I think that qualities of a good supervisor depend on the work position where the boss works. However, I think that they are some important qualities, which are validity for all leaders – courage and strength. In the following passages I’ll illustrate my statement with reasons and examples.

Nowadays, business is a risky activity. Every day some company goes bankrupt. Therefore, a boss must be person with great courage. The personnel in the company observe him and if he lose control it’s very dangerous for the discipline in the company. For instance, If one company is in a financial crisis, workers feel it. It has an adverse effect on discipline. In my country we say, “fish start to perish from the head”. Therefore I think that a leader must serve, as the model for personnel.

Second, I think that leader must strength. It means that he must have enough power to make important decisions. Sometimes, a leader face problems, which contain contradiction between personal and common interests. For instance, if some worker seriously trespass a labor code as a result he must be dismissed. If this worker is a friend with leader, leader will face problems, which are related with their relationship. In this case, a leader must be decisive and strength. He must overcome the personal interest.

In conclusion I think that they are two important characteristics of a good supervisor. First, he must be always ready to encourage employees. However, he must be strength person, who never compromises with the policy of his company.
