What is your type of temperament among these four:

•sanguine
•choleric
•melancholic
•phlegmatic

Personally, I can't exactly define what type of personality I am. I'm inclined to think that I combine feautures of sanguine and choleric temperaments, perhaps, with blood to be dominant sometimes.

What about you?

maybe all these types can be in me Laughing

sometime I'm sanguine or choleric or melancholic or phlegmatic.
that depend on myself.

what about you?

Hi Mba,
If blood sometimes prevails over yellow bile, then I am rather a sanguine person. Laughing

Interesting topic Pamela!

Well, here is what I think about myself

sanguine-- most definitely
Choleric--hmm, may be I have to ask my friends first
melancholic--me? Laughing
Phlegmatic--nay...but I do feel attracted to people who are, at least most of my guy friends are. Heck, I'm the only cheerful thing around them! Laughing

The way I see myself is not necessarily the way others see me. Well, I’m not so sure, really, but I give myself the impression of being a combination of the following natures: amicable, quiet, phlegmatic (I prefer the term 'easy-going') with a touch of melancholy (in which I delight), if it makes any sense.

Hi,

Something that I find interesting is that these types of personality are supposed to correlate with your body type (ectomorph, mesomorph, or endomorph). Do you believe in this theory?

Hi,

That, Amy, is a very good question. I don't think a 'heteromorph' counts, though.

I think yourselves is the most difficult person in the world to understand. What you see is not you, what you see is just your shadow.
My friends said i was sanguine. But i feel blue many times . I just don't want to express my feelings.

my friend said that i was melancholic. I remember once upon a time i companied my friend to return goods because of the poor quality of it. When the salesman refused, it was I who got furious instead of my friend.
But i feel i am really phlegmatic.

I had a psychology course in my university and it was determined that I'm a choleric. Probably I'm...
I think that the temperament correlates with the occupation of a human being. For example: melancholics are artists e.t.c.

There are 4 ways correlate with 4 types of people:
I believe that is one of my expecting things (book, watch, .. even a diamond) Laughing
I will ask him why you give me too late Mad
Oh oh! You always give the usual one, It's too boring Sad
OR Receive it with a calm thankness, your present is just outward appearance Rolling Eyes
To me, I receive it and uncover immediately Mr. Green

Hello all,
In my humble opinion a person can be both sanguine and phlegmatic as me. I don't remember any moment I've been melancholic. About being choleric, only when I'm very very hungry and somebody wants me to do something, of course not always.
To all, Do you know any type of examination which can determine what we are?

The Four 4 Temperaments & the Four 4 Elements in Astrology Thu Jul 05, 2007 16:11 pm  The Four 4 Temperaments & the Four 4 Elements in Astrology

Greetings everybody,

I have been looking at personality types over a number of years
and have come to the conclusion that the Four (4) Temperaments as
first classified by Hippocrates correlate perfectly with
the Western Astrological Signs and Elements.

Take a look at my chart :

1. CHOLERIC = Fire signs = Aries, Leo, Sagittarius
2. SANGUIN = Air signs = Gemini, Libra, Aquarius
3. MELANCHOLIC = Water signs = Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces
4. PHLEGMATIC = Earth signs = Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn

I am also open to criticism and other ideas because their are also :
Three Qualities which belong to each Zodiac Sign :

1. Cardinal = Aries(Fire), Cancer(Water), Libra(Air), Capricorn(Earth).
2. Fixed = Taurus(Earth), Leo(Fire), Scorpio(Water), Aquarius(Air).
3. Mutable = Gemini(Air), Virgo(Earth), Sagittarius(Fire), Pisces(Water).

1. Cardinal signs are Initiators, Starters (begin each season).
2. Fixed sign are Maintainers, Holders (middle sign of each season).
3. Mutable signs are Changeable, Flexible (ends each season).

Cardinal Fire = Aries begins Spring (21 March),
Cardinal Water = Cancer begins Summer (21 June),
Cardinal Air = Libra begins Autumn (BE) / Fall (AE) (21 September),
Cardinal Earth = Capricorn begins Winter (21 December).

You see the pattern? The rest you can work out for yourself or I?ll
write them out for you next time (but I will simple edit this page).

This can also be correlated to the three Dieties in India of :

1. Cardinal = Brahma = Creator of the Universe
2. Fixed = Vishnu = Maintainer of the Universe
3. Mutable = Shiva = Dissolver of the Universe

I hope that helps with your understanding.
By the way, a person is normally a combination of the Four 4 Temperaments
and rarely a the whole characterisic.

For example :
I would calculate that I am about 70% Sanguin and 30% Choleric.
I may have some Melancholic and Phlegmatic characteristics at times but if so
I would say 10% of each which would reduce the 70% to 50%.
The 30% Choleric would stay 30%.

I?ll write some more about personalities because it?s one of my many favourite
hobby subjects. Meanwhile you may be interested in the Websites which I
recommended in a conversation with Torsten.

According to Bruce's study, I'm supposed to be CHOLERIC
Well, that's quite right Smile
