adjust/adapt to university life? #2 (permalink) Tue Mar 20, 2007 3:30 am   adjust/adapt to university life?

Hi Anna

Here are some ideas:

adjust/adapt to university life --> mean basically the same thing

adjust a hat = change the way it is positioned on your head (involves movement)
alter a skirt = change the length, or the size of the waist, etc. (a more permanent change involving needle and thread.)

convert a farmhouse to a bed and breakfast
transform the farm into a country estate

change your ways = change the way you behave
change your tune = change your opinion (how you think) about something
