Hi

In Urdu, a pheasant is called "surkhab". And there are a lot of beautiful proverbs regarding the beauty of its wings. One of them is: (translation)

1- She behaves as if she is decorated with a pheasant's feathers. (...as if she is very, very good)

I would really like to know if there is any substitute of such a beautiful proverb in English? Also, how do you find the red phrase? Natural or unnatural?

Regards

Tom

Hi Tom

Is your phrase intended to be positive? In other words, she is not simply putting on airs, but rather she is really very good?

Hi Tom

Your sentence wouldn't be typical in English.

An English expression that comes to mind at the moment is 'the cat's meow'. (something or someone very special or admired)

She thinks she's the cat's meow.
