Hello guys, I'm Hieu, from Vietnam #1 (permalink) Tue Mar 20, 2007 4:28 am   Hello guys, I'm Hieu, from Vietnam

Warmly saying "Chao than ai" (Vietnamese hello)!

I found this forum by accident when I was searching for an English essay related to Universities and Colleges. I also feel that ESL is an interesting, warm and useful community.

My name is Hieu, just call me 'leuleu' (I like that).
I've graduated from a Business School (Hanoi Foreign Trade University) for 1 year.
My interest is Education and Psychology. I had 2,5 years experience in doing research and training in both the 2 fields. Now, I'm seeking a scholarship for studying abroad, so I am preparing TOEFL as a basic language certificate condition.

I'm very glad to come here and know you all.

See you very soon.

P/S: for those who are in Vietnam. I'm living in Hanoi, phone: 04.568 1549. Don't hesitate to phone me in case of sharing English learning information or experience. Thank you for reading.

Leuleu.

"Chao than ai", Leuleu, and welcome here!

Did you know that your nickname sounds French, too? It's used in the expression '? la queue leu leu', which means 'in single file', like when we are queuing up one behind another.

Hope you have a great, productive time with us!

Hi Hieu,

Many thanks for introducing yourself. Just a pointer: You might consider removing your email address from your signature because our forum gets fully indexed by Google and other search engines. This means, at some point a so called "email harvester" (a spider that roams the internet and indexes email addresses) will collect your email address and sell it to spammers. You might end up receiving a lot of unsolicited email. If somebody here on the forum wants to contact you, they can click on the little "pm" icon at the bottom of your profile and send you a private message.

Hope this makes sense.
Regards,
Torsten

Your information is very useful for a new member like me.
As you see, I've changed my avatar and removed my email.
You know, when I told my friend about ESL forum, the best thing I emphasized was the caring and sharing like yours. Thank you so much.

Talk to you later.

Hi FangFang,

My answer is yes, I'm exploring TOEFL. I think there are many wonderful experiences from experts everywhere in this forum and others as well from which we can learn a lot.
However, for me, I think the most important thing is just a question "Why do you study English (or TOEFL) or whatever you want?". And the deepest and most proper answer for this question will be the key guide for each one who wants to make a revolution in his/her studying. What I mean is that it depends on the purpose of you, me and each person. When you have a clear answer for the question of your learning purpose and goals, you will find that it works very, very, very efficiently. When I can answer it for myself, everything goes on its way.

please take some time to answer such kinds of question. I bet you will find it marvelous.

Good luck to you, and keep smiling. Smile

Regards,
Leu
