phobia = fear

claustrophobia = fear of tight/enclosed spaces (like a small closet)

arachnophobia = fear of spiders (severe fear of them -- many people are "afraid" of spiders, but most don't totally freak out)

Agoraphobia = abnormal fear of expecting or experiencing a difficult or embarrassing situation from which the sufferer cannot find an escape.
(from Wikipedia)

Literally, it means "fear of the marketplace". In practice, it is the fear of being in public.

This website might interest you, Phiphili:
http://www.phobialist.com/

It appears to have quite an exhaustive list of phobias, listed alphabetically and with definitions.

If I were asked to write out this list, perhaps I would develop graphophobia -- fear of writing. :wink:
