I completely agree....
we should also focus on the usage of the word that really helps get to the gist of it....

James could you come here. -- 'Hither' is no longer used in modern English except for a few set phrases: 'hither and yon', 'a come-hither look'.

This Friday night I'm meeting my school friends.-- 'Rendezvous' is also seldom used, and when it is (and often jocularly), it is used to suggest a romantic or emotional meeting.

John muddled the documents due to work pressure.-- Not common, but possible, I suppose. 'Muddled up' would sound more natural to me.

Clara, it looks like you've made great strides in getting your projects completed.

Is it possible to go through with? In case we have too much time on our hands, it could be, though.

On second thoughts, let me rephrase it. Wouldn't it be impossible for all ESL learners to be able to maintain all the words, whose they learn, as positive words, even if we gave it our best shot? That's the bottom line.

Find the word family works well.
You can konw 10 more words by the roots and their derivatives sometimes.
It is also very interesting to konw the connection among words.
When comes to the words having various meanings, the different meanings can explain each other in some extent ,just like two or people who have something familiar in mind living in a house .
Expanding vocabularies is a happy way if you want to explore.

Yes as they said read. You will find ample new words in a book with many pages.Write them on sheet, translate them and read the regularly for remembering.
It is better to explain the word meaning in English to practice the other words you know

you should learn atleast 20 words in a day and try to use them in different type of sentence so that you can remmember them with ease. one thing more dont learn only words practice those in sentences this will be the easy way to learn.

thanks
