I'm all for ads, Aereal. That's a good idea.

...as long as they don't cover too much of the screen, of course.

OK, we'll reconsider the placement, color and shape of the ads. Please keep sharing your ideas with us.
Thanks a lot,
TD

If You(We) want to make this site better,You (We) have to attract more people and create more interesting topics..
You can add some classical or belletristic literature
and not many people know about this site... It needs publicity

So let's buy some ad space for next year's Super Bowl.

...or maybe a fifteen-second spot on an episode on the Food Network or the History Channel. hehe

The latter might be a bit more within our budget.

That's a good idea, Tom. Joke aside, we could add a feature that allows forum users to cast a vote for other users, moderators and admins. I've seen such systems on other forums so let's give it some more thought...

Hi Michael,

You are right, we need to add a chat feature and most importantly, audio communication. That's why we've started this project:
Learning English Online? -- Project Overview

Let me know what you think,
Torsten

Hi Torsten!

Let me first sum up what I?ve understood from your links. Your goal is to join a group of English-teachers/professionals who offer their services to learners in order to improve learners skills. The members of that group get the chance to introduce themselves at this site and the learners may determine for one of them as a -say- personal coach for improving their skills. The rate of pay depends on the success the learner will have in tests.
The same time the coach can get some education supporting material and also the support of the team so that they can improve their own education skills.

Sounds quite interesting. Please correct me if I haven?t got your point right.

Regards

Michael

Hi Michael,

Yes, that's pretty much what we are planning to do.

Hi Torsten!

Like I said, your plan sounds quite interesting to me. Particularly if the learners mustn?t hold fixed times but may determine about the time and speed of the lessons themselves (I mean in accordance with their coaches). Don?t they?

By the way, do you have an idea about the costs for learners yet?

Regards

Michael

Hi Michael, let's speak about investments rather than costs. We want to create a system that is based on the principle of "increasing returns" -- this means, every party involved will benefit from it. Once all the components of the system are in place, we'll decide on a "pricing model". At any rate, we must give our customers much more than they would get from joining PalTalk or any other community and chatting to people just for free.

Regards,
Torsten

Chatting/The IELTS #27 (permalink) Sat Mar 31, 2007 16:50 pm   Chatting/The IELTS

Hi,

I think a chat function of some kind would be good to have. There is quite a lot of informative information available on various English exams that people might take - but the IELTS is missing.
