What does this expression stand for: "word"!

Hi,

You sometimes hear kids say "word" meaning something like "trust me". Is "word" short "you have my word on it"?

another meaning (most common, probably) is "I agree."

It could also be used to convey such sentiments as "You're on" or "(You have yourself a/It's a) deal".
