I can't figure it out either, Lost_soul. What's the context? _________________ "Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power." ~ Abraham Lincoln |

Correct. How did you know ? (Eminem is my favourite rapper and musician !!! I really enjoy listening to him but sometimes his lyrics are like a puzzle to me )
Hi, Amy !
The context is: ... As long as I'm on pills, and I got plenty of pot I'll be in a canoe paddlin, makin fun of your yacht But I would like an award for the best rapper to get one mic in The Source (The Sourse is a popular magazine, a mic is like a point - the more mics you get the better you are, LS) and a wardrobe I can afford Otherwise I might get sent up back-strike in a Ford (this line is what really puzzles me) And you wonder what the hell I need more Vicadin for ...
Now, could you figure out the meaning?
Thanks |

Hi LS
Maybe if I were a big fan of hip hop and rap, I might be able to help.
The only thing I can tell you with any certainty is that "sent up" is often used to mean "sent to prison" and if you call someone "a Ford" you are insulting them. (Ford cars have the unfortunate reputation of being notoriously unreliable, worthless junk.)
I have no idea what back-strike is supposed to mean. (Maybe I'll ask my teenage nephew. This may be the sort of language that old people like me just aren't hip enough to know. ) _________________ "Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power." ~ Abraham Lincoln |
