Hi,

It seems the phrase "sorry, no can do" originated from Pidgin English, so I take it that "no can do" and "long time no speak" have similar origins?

Thanks
Torsten

The expression "long time, no see" apparently comes from Chinese Pidgin English.

If you heard someone say "long time, no speak" that was probably just their own personal modification of "long time, no see". Probably a more common alteration of "long time, no see" is "long time, no hear".
