Hi,

On an audio CD I have come across the following sentence and I wonder how common the construction "to attribute something as being something" is:

The personal development industry is so vast today and yet, people around the world attribute the "Strangest Secret" as being the one message that has most positively affected their lives.

Thanks,
Torsten

Hi Torsten,

The example seems to jump a gap. It omits something which my ear at least would want to include along the lines of:
Quote:
attribute the "Strangest Secret" to its being /to the fact that it is the one message that has most positively affected their lives.

Hi Torsten

The person was using 'attribute as being' in the same way people might say 'consider as being'. I'd say you would be much more likely to hear the latter.
