A fat guy is running from his house to a convenience store. He buys a Cup Ramen which is an instant noodle covered with disposable small cup. He devours it in just 3 minutes. As soon as he gets out of the store, he runs to his company. This could be many people’s everyday life. Nowadays, food has become easier to prepare. However, I claim that this change didn’t improve the way people live. This change might have even deteriorated our lives.
First of all, instant foods which are easy to prepare are catalysts of obesity. Obesity has become a serious problem in many advanced countries. According to the research, the main cause of the obesity is ‘instant foods.’ Some ingredients such as preservatives used for the instant are harmful to human. Here is a good example. I have a male friend who is obese. He was slim when he was in elementary school. However, after he became a middle school student, he began to love ea ting hamburgers and pizza. Soon, he became fat. Now, he regrets his eating habits but it is too late because loosing weight is not so simple. As a result, I believe that instant foods are easy to prepare, but they are not good since they contain harmful ingredients.
Last but not least, instant foods took us from happiness of making and eating food. Cooks say that they are happy while preparing foods that people want because they can imagine the happy face of people who are satisfied with the food. Also, we could have conversation and talk a lot with people while being served. For example, when I eat fast food with my family, we don’t have enough time to talk. So we only eat and go somewhere else because eating is stopped in few minutes. However, while eating delicious food that my mommy made, we talk about school life and some other events that occurred on that day. For me, this is the happiest time that I could have while eating together. Eventually, I believe that instant foods are not good because it deprives our happiness.
In conclusion, I believe that instant foods never improved the way of people live. |
