Le

Here are some bullet-points about Nashville:

City population: About 500,000
Metropolitan area population: About 1 million

Weather: (generally) hot/humid summers; variable weather, usually 50-80F in the fall and spring; rainy and cool in the winter (seldom snows, but it snows at least once each winter... the snow usually melts the next day)

Music/Culture: Big country/western scene. Nashville is known as "Music City USA". Nashvilel is also known as the "Athens of the South" -- we have a replica of the Parthenon. It's located about two blocks from my apartment in Centennial Park.

Education: Belmont University and Vanderbilt University are in the city. Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) is about 30-45 minutes away.

Despite the presence of Belmont and Vandy within city limits, probably most Nashvillians cheer for the Tennessee Volunteers (University of Tennessee, or simply UT) sports teams, especially the Vol football team.

The Bell South tower downtown is known as the "Batman Building" because the twin antennae resemble the "ears" on Batman's costume.

The city is split almost in half by the Cumberland River.

Professional sports teams (major leagues) include the Tennessee Titans (football -- NFL) and Nashville Predators (hockey -- NHL).

Nashville is the capital city of Tennessee.

At least one major battle (I think two, but my history is shady concerning this..) of the US Civil War (1861-65) was fought in and around Nashville.

Nashville is home to Music Row -- where most of the music industry branch headquarters are located.

That's all I can think of right now. If you wish to know anything else, just holler. Here are some web sites:

oh, that's over expectations Very Happy . Thanks so much for your information and your great help. I 'm gonna check them out.
I love travelling so much. That's why I want to know more about some specific places in the world like Nashville^^ even though I know that it's hard to visit such further place.
Again, thanks a bunch. I think I have to bother you sometime Laughing for getting more information about your country and your customs, culture...That's the best way for improving my poor English Smile . If my asking is too much that makes you uncomfortable, just simply ignore my questions.
very nice to talk to you, Tom

From Le-Vietnam
P.s: Ah, if my writing has s.th wrong (grammar, structure, words,...) pls correct it. I'd appreciate that help. Thanks in advance.
