TOEFL Essay: Change of the lifestyle #1 (permalink) Wed Mar 28, 2007 21:36 pm   TOEFL Essay: Change of the lifestyle

Hello!

Question:
Some people enjoy change and they look forward to new experiences. Others like their lives to stay the same, and they do not change their usual habits. Compare these two approaches to life. Which approach do you prefer? Why?

Answer:
Someone prefers to live as he has lived for decades, another one try to change his life permanently. I don’t now the perfect choice. But I guess that if you want to be more successful you will choose the second way.

The old habits give us the stability because we now exactly what we will do next day, next month, next year. But the life isn’t endless. Anyone could make his life better by getting new skills or experience. One of my friends had ended the University with electrical engineering diploma and became to work as the simple engineer. But he really didn’t like this job because he has liked intercourse more than programming and circuits drawing. One day he read an article about a man, who radically change his life and he also tried to do so. He gave up his job and entered the manager’s courses. In any case such solution is very hard and risky. Sometimes we could lose but my friend has won. Now he has a pleasing job with the high wage.

Sometimes it’s necessary for success to change not only your activities but also your circle of friend. Do you now that a person is a mean of his five best friends? I suppose it’s a common situation when a person has relations with boring and lazy people only because he is used to have relations with them. Are such friends better than life without friends? May be, but you could simply go to the sport or foreign language club and find their more interesting and less selfish friends. If a man fears to change the country of living or the job I could suppose that he’s not self – confident enough. Let’s stop watching TV and go running!

Everyone has to make his own decision about their future life. There is a saying: “Who don’t risk that one never drink champagne”. So if you don’t want to achieve the great life’s results stay the same, but I’ll go by the another path.
