To present controversal views and theories in class or not is always a question that concernS teachers. I remark that controversial views and theoriEs should be introduced to students in the right way and at the right time. Only by this way, CAN teachers complete their responsibitlity that to teach their students all they need.
First of all, as school is where students are prepareD FOR real life, presenting controversial views and theories is a vitaL part of the course. Everyday life is always full of controversial issues that students have to face. If they are not prepared for that, they will get INTO trouble in dealing with these issues. When presenting critical issues in classroom, teachers teach their students how to think, how to analysize the problem correctly. As a result, when students face a real PROBLEM, they will hardly make mistakes.
My teacher and what she does may be a good example OF this. She introduces us TO critical issues that we read In newspapers, watch on television everyday. Moreover, she not only introduces them, but she also encourages us to discuss. At those times, we are free to give our ideas about the topics. IN that way, she can know if our thought is right or wrong. Then, she corrects the mistakes that we have made in understanding the problems. Consequently, we rEmark/NOTICE/REALISE that she not only teachES us subjects but SHE slso teachES us how to deal with real life.
However, as I said above, controversial views and theories must be introduCed in the right way. Teachers should be free to introduce them but thay should not be free to give their own ideas about the issues. Because they may affect negatively their students' thoughtS. They may understand their teachers’ ideas in an incorrect way. Or their thought may be limited by what they hear from their teachers. Moreover, when it is suitable to introduce students TO such views and theories is WHAT should be consideED because it will be negative if students are not ready for such issues.
To sum up, I strongly RECOMMEND ?? that controversial views and theories should be introduced in THE classroom. Yet, teachers must consider when and how they should be introduced.
