I previously sent a new message but I don't see it posted, so I will try again.

I would like you opinion on the following:

John is/was really upset. His wife Sally asked him to do the laundry this morning before she left for work but he is/was very afraid. "I have never done the laundry" he said. Sally never told me how to dothe laundry he thought/thinks. She has never told me that younever put a wool sweater in hot water. So I ruined/ have ruined it. He thought/thinks that everything went/goes in hot water.

"John you know/knew you shouldn't put wool in hot water.

It is confusing whether it is past or present any suggestions?

Thank you.
Giovanni

"Sally never told me how to do the laundry," he thought. "She never told me that you never put a wool sweater in hot water. So I ruined/ have ruined it." "John you know/knew you shouldn't put wool in hot water."
