| I was taught to use cardinal numbers for the date... 1 March 2007...except for formal announcements when ordinals are used and written in full...First of March Two thousand and seven. |

Is it correct to write 1 March 2007 or 1st March 2007?
Thank you. |
Both are appropriate. However, there is a tendency to write 1 March 2007 as opposed to 1st March 2007. |

I would write either March 1, 2007 or 1 March 2007.
I would not write 1st March 2007. _________________ "Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power." ~ Abraham Lincoln |

March 1, 2007
If you're feeling European (or Canadian or Aussie, though I am not sure of the correct form in those countries), it would be 1 March 2007. _________________ Billie Jean is not my lover. Hee. |

You noticed which version I wrote first, though, didn't you, Tom?
By the way, don't computers the world over prefer a format similar to 2007-03-01. :D _________________ "Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power." ~ Abraham Lincoln |
